Asphalt repair in Carlyss

Potholes, driveways and lots priced off the published cost guide. Call (337) 426-9227 or send the form below.

Carlyss has some of the youngest asphalt in the metro, which makes it the best place to spend small money instead of big money. Driveways poured for the newer builds off Highway 27 and Choupique are in their first decade, and a first sealcoat at year three to five plus crack attention when hairlines appear buys those drives their full design life. Skipping that first maintenance window is how a fifteen-year driveway becomes an eight-year driveway in this climate.

The other Carlyss reality is trucks. Plant workers park real trucks, and a driveway edge that a sedan never notices crumbles under a diesel dually turning tight. Edge repairs, widened aprons and thicker-section patches where the truck actually sits are routine calls here, and they are all published-table jobs rather than mysteries.

Why driveways die from the edges here

New-ish asphalt has one enemy nobody warns owners about: the string trimmer. Trimmed grass edges channel roof and yard water straight along the driveway edge, and edges are the thinnest, weakest part of the mat. If your Carlyss drive is crumbling at the sides first, the water path is why, and the fix includes the drainage, not just the asphalt.

Carlyss and the 27 corridor

Around Carlyss the calls come from the neighborhoods off Highway 27, the Choupique Road builds, the new streets toward the bayou, covering ZIP 70665. If your pavement sits near those, a crew has almost certainly patched within sight of it.

Carlyss driveway questions

The house is four years old. Does the driveway really need anything yet?

A first sealcoat, most likely yes. Years three to five are the window where the surface starts oxidizing but nothing has failed, and a $250 to $700 sealcoat in that window is the cheapest year of life you will ever buy the drive. If cracks have already shown up, they get sealed first.

My truck is breaking the driveway edge. Can that be fixed properly?

Yes. The edge gets rebuilt with proper compaction and, where the truck genuinely needs the width, the apron gets widened in thicker section so the load lands on pavement built for it. Repairing the edge to its old thickness under the same truck just schedules the next repair.

Do you do small jobs, or only big lots?

Small jobs are half the calendar. A single-section patch or a driveway sealcoat is a routine stop, priced off the same public table as everything else, and doing it well is how we expect to be back for the bigger work later.
